Our XL blocks of Coconut Coir are Triple Washed, 100% Organic, and has low EC and pH balanced, making it the perfect addition to your growing medium

Coconut coir growing medium comes from the coconut's fibrous husk (known as coir) that is bound together by lignin (known as pith). After the husk is immersed in water for 6 weeks, the fiber is extracted mechanically, and the pith is left behind as a waste product and stored in heaps to age. Since the pith comes from the fruit, it is quite naturally rich in nutrients. Coconut coir growing mediums are dehydrated and compressed into a compact form for easy handling. With the addition of water, coir expands to an easy to work with growing medium.

Expands to up to 20 gallons of material

The best!!

Excellent for seed starting, adding organic matter to beds, and helping fluff up compacted soil. This brick does it all! One XL brick gave me enough to start multiple trays, add to containers, and beds. Will definitely order again!

Amazing!!!

I love this stuff. I used this to start seeds and I also used in my raised beds. First to say I was amazed at how easy this was. How easy it was to start seeds in instead of picking out the common much to wooded potting soils from your big boxed stores. It was easy to transplant. The seeds germinated much easier in it and all I did was fill up a 20 gallon plastic whiskey barrel with water and it soaked it up. I did have to fill it up with water a few times because this is a huge brick. I will never go back to potting soil. Absolutely recommend!!!

This is a SERIOUS brick!

I had ordered three xl bricks as I am starting many seeds for my 40+ garden beds this year. Anyway….. ONE XL brick filled up my storage container!! It smells so good! It took several gallons of warm water, and the texture is amazing! I can totally see why one would use coconut coir as it retains water really well, and in addition, because the fiber is coarse, it has enough space for roots to solidly develop without choking.
