Passiflora incarnata

Purple Passion Flower is a perennial vine with an intricate, unusual flower. The fall fruit is a large, edible yellowish-orange berry. It spreads by root suckers. Purple Passion Flower is one of the host plants of the Mexican Fritillary butterfly and the Variegated Fritillary butterfly.

Although reliably winter hardy to USDA zone 5, Passion Flower can survive in Zone 4 if you have just the right protected micro climate to plant in.

Contains 15 seeds

Seed dormancy can be broken artificially by prolonged refrigeration of damp seed in the process of cold/moist STRATIFICATION.  Or "winter sow" for a less hands-on, natural cold stratification.

For indoor seed starting: it is recommended to provide bottom heat at temperatures of 70°F to 80°F, resulting in germination anywhere from one to six weeks. At lower temperatures, germination can take anywhere from 10 weeks to 12 months.

Estimated germination time under optimal conditions ranges from six weeks to six months, with some seeds taking up to 12 months to sprout. When planting outside, ensure that you leave at least 24 to 36 inches between each seed or seedling.
