80 days. Capsicum annuum

Alma Paprika is a thick-walled, sweet cherry type pepper.  Very Prolific.

Ripens from cream-white to orange and then red.

Makes a sweet, but spicy addition to any dish.  One of the best varieties for drying and grinding for paprika powder.  Also great for fresh eating.

Contains 15 heirloom seeds

Start seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost date.  Bury seeds 1/16 deep - keep room constant 70 degrees.  Germination might be erratic as seeds can take up to 4 weeks to germinate.
Don't over water seeds or they will turn to mush

Great to make your own paprika powder!

These peppers are not huge but they are full of flavor! Mildly spicy, these are excellent to grow and dry! Alma is one of the pepper types to use for paprika powder. They are thin-skinned which is what makes drying them easy.
They do take some time to sprout, and as with most pepper seeds, In several videos, Mary has recommended sprouting them in a ziploc bag with a damp paper towel and keep them in a warm place, like on top of the refrigerator, and this is exactly the way I sprout these seeds!
I am planning on growing a bunch of these plants this year to create a solid inventory of paprika powder. Thank you Mary!

Two years in a row zero germination and this second year I ordered pimento peppers from another company as well and those germinated! The production off of my other pimento peppers has been Wonderful! I do not recommend these peppers as I grew another side by side.
