MAY SEED SALE : 5/10 - 5/17/24

110 days. A strain of the old Danish variety Amager, named for the island of Amager near Copenhagen.  Amager is mentioned as far back as the 15th century by Dutch colonists.  Introduced in the United States in 1887.

Danish Ballhead cabbage is reliable, bolt and split resistant. Very well suited to cool regions.  Not recommenced for those with hot weather.  However, we fall plant here on the farm with day time highs in the 90s and have little problem.  Our nights do dip in the 50s though.

This cabbage produces very  round, blue-green heads weighing 5-7 pounds. The plant is 12-14" tall and 24-28" wide.

Danish Ballhead is best transplanted in the late summer for first frost harvest. Considered one of the best cabbages for storage because of the tight heads.

Contains approx 100 heirloom seeds
