85 days. The Oriental Yard Long, also called Asparagus Bean, produces pods that can grow to be anywhere from one to three feet long.

Yard-long beans have a taste similar to that of a green bean, and the pods cook very quickly due to their shape. They require support from a fence or pole so that their vines can grow up and provide the room necessary for the pods to grow to their full size and weight. The plant can grow in a variety of climates, thriving in zones three to nine.

Perfect for hot summers

These yard long beans have been more productive than green beans for me. They taste great and are tender when harvested early, and they're a lot of fun to give away! They thrived all through the Texas summer.

Love this bean!

I have grown this two seasons now and it produces pretty well in south Texas, where it is hot and humid. The beans taste fantastic and the plants are hardy with our climate. I refrigerate these beans until we eat them, but I found that they did not hold up well with freezing- the texture was a little off when they were cooked after thawed. That's ok, we will eat these one fresh! They are that good!
