Beautiful, prolific, and delicious!

Many people are not a fan of okra, and I shared that opinion, until I grew it myself and was determined to learn how to eat it. I was amazed by the gorgeous, hibiscus-like flowers, and the abundancy of okra that each plant produced. Bees love okra!
I experimented with recipes and now have a newly found love for pickled okra. I found that when you soak okra in a vinegar solution for 30 minutes, it dissolves the “snot” that turns many people off from this vegetable, and you are left with the delicious pod instead… do not let the pods get too large because they get fibrous.
I will be growing multiple varieties this year, like Jing orange okra!

Prolific producer!

I loved this okra. It was very prolific, easy to harvest, and was not harrassed by any pests. I added it to just about every dish I made.
