45-50 days. Nicotiana tabacum
Black Mammoth is a deep dark heirloom tobacco that gives good weight.
This is a Kentucky specialty tobacco that produces large, pointed leaves on a plant to only 5 to 6 feet tall. Tends to create multiple flower heads of pink and white.
The plant holds itself upright on green (not black) stems, bearing clean leaves (less sand lugs). When finished, this is considered a dark, wrapper or snuff tobacco.
Contains 50 heirloom seeds
Some growers use tobacco as a companion plant and/or for DIY pest control.
Mary's Heirloom Seeds does not encourage tobacco use.
Growing tips:
Tobacco prefers a full sun position and regular watering. Press seeds into surface and keep warm and moist until germination. Tobacco is a heavy feeder, give composted chicken manure. Space plants 2 feet apart.
